As it has been over the years, the Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly under the leadership of MCE, Hon. Mariama Karley Amui has once again donated a number of food items to Ga traditional leaders in the municipality.
The items range from sacks of maize, gallons of red oil, sacks Palm Kennel as well as cartons of fresh fish. These items form the main ingredients for the famous homowo meal known as “Kpokpoi”
The items were distributed to the leadership of the Ga traditional council, chiefs and opinion leaders in the municipality as well as the various assembly members in Ablekuma Central.
The municipal assembly believes these are the custodians of the land and it’s therefore necessary to recognize them in periods like this.
The gesture has been the assembly’s social responsibility to the various religious groups in the municipality.
Hon. Mariama Amui charged all to reflect on the significance of this yuletide in Ga Mashie and called on the traditional leadership and all stakeholders inclusive to use their medium in preaching peace and unity especially among the youth from now, during the general election and its aftermath as this year marks an election year.
The chiefs and queen mothers who received the items on behalf of their subjects, extended their unwavering appreciation to Hon. Mariama Karley Amui and the Assembly for these yeomans’s job they have been doing over the years and prayed for good health for the staff towards their efficient and effective service delivery in the municipality.
